An important investment in the South, announced by Ledesma, to construct three solar thermal power plants valued at 800 million dollars each, surprised the provincial administration.

The most advanced project is in San Rafael, which will generate around 1,500 jobs during the construction phase and will maintain 500 people working permanently once the plant is operational.

Regional entrepreneurs, grouped in the Federation of Southern Chambers, have managed to emerge from a difficult economic period that has affected Mendoza, driven by changes in the business climate and support from the provincial government.

The president of the Southern Mendoza Center for Business Development Foundation highlighted Ledesma's private investment initiative, emphasizing the commitment of private entities to improve the functioning of the State. This 2.55 billion dollar project marks a milestone in the region and suggests a new approach to private economic development.

However, despite its magnitude and potential economic impact, this announcement has not been mentioned in official speeches nor acknowledged by government authorities, creating some uncertainty regarding its progress and viability.

The construction of the solar thermal power plants in San Rafael, General Alvear, and Lavalle represents an important step towards diversifying the productive matrix of the region and could set a precedent for future investments in the energy sector.
